Subhman Gill (KKR)
The fazilka born 20-year-old stylish batter is in the limelight ever since the 2018 U-19 World Cup, in which Gill was adjudged the man of the tournament for its outstanding batting display. By the backing of his performance in the U-19 level, Kolkata Knight Riders bought Subhman Gill for a whooping 1.8 Crore in the 2018 IPL auction. Though KKR team management failed to utilized Gill’s talent properly in 2018 edition, Gill was selected in the Indian odi team for the New Zealand tour just before the World Cup 2019 for his excellent performance in the domestic circuit for Punjab and India A team.
Though Gill could not score big and subsequently dropped from the India team, he is regarded as the next big thing in Indian cricket. Just last year Gill won the prestigious “Emerging Player of the Tournament” in IPL, having scored 296 runs in 14 matches. This year could see the dominance and real class of Subhman Gill as for the first time he is getting an opportunity to bat higher in the order probably in the opening slot from the beginning of the tournament.
