Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is going to kick off from September 19. The final will be played on November 10. All the teams will reach UAE by August 22. All the players and support staff will be tested thrice for COVID-19. If the reports are negative in all three tests, only then they will be allowed to enter into a bio-bubble. Meanwhile, there is bad news of last year’s champion Mumbai Indians (MI). Their star bowler Lasith Malinga likely to miss IPL 2020 due to family reasons.
The Sri Lankan veteran has not announced anything yet. But as per media reports, His father is ill and might go through surgery soon. Malinga decided to be with family at this difficult hour. MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene has left for UAE on Thursday. This will be his fourth consecutive year with the franchise.
Another Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan will be associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He will be played the role of a mentor with the franchise. He will leave for UAE on September 4.
