India is currently under 21 days of lockdown. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced this few days ago to stop the spread of novel coronavirus. Since then many Indian cricketers have come forward in support of Modi’s message. Prime Minister recently appealed his countrymen to switch off the lights of their homes on 5th April at 9 PM for 9 minutes. Now Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has voiced his support for PM’s message and urged the people of this country to ‘hit this virus out of the park’.
Bumrah took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, “That feeling of every fan shinning their phone’s flashlight and bursting into applause and cheer, when we deliver a knockout performance is unparalleled. Team India, let’s hit this virus out of the park! April 5, 9 PM, 9 Minutes. Show your support!

IPL 2020 uncertain due to coronavirus
Coronavirus has affected sporting events across the world. Even the greatest sporting event on earth, the Olympics 2020 recently postponed until next year. Cricket is no exception. Several bilateral and others, even domestic matches of all countries have been stopped. Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was supposed to begin from 29th March. But the cash-rich league was postponed till 15th April. India is currently under 21 days lockdown which will end on 14th April. According to several media reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will take a final call once the lockdown is over. As of now, there is no certainty of IPL 2020. COVID-19 has created a pandemic in India. So far more than 3000 people have been reported positive. More than 60 people have died due to this deadly virus. Several cricketers and IPL franchise owners have hinted that life is now more important than IPL. So this T20 league can wait until the situation gets back to normal.
