Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has won many hearts with his latest initiative. As coronavirus is still wreaking havoc across the country, migrant laborers are traveling back to their homes. They are facing extreme hardships. Shami decided to lend them a helping hand by offering them food packets and face masks. He was seen distributing the same on National Highway 24 in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from that, he has also set up a food distribution center near his home in Sahaspur, UP.
BCCI uploaded a video on twitter in which the activity of the cricketer has come to light. “As #IndiaFightsCorona, @MdShami11 comes forward to help people trying to reach home by distributing food packets & masks on National Highway No. 24 in Uttar Pradesh. He has also set up food distribution centers near his house in Sahaspur,” the BCCI wrote.
Mohammed Shami is one of the finest fast bowlers of India. He has become a regular member of the ODI and Test team over the last few years. Recently he made comeback to the T20I team as well. Shami was all set to play for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. But with coronavirus outbreak, we have to wait for some more time before we can see Shami on the field again.
Mohammed Shami actually hails from Uttar Pradesh. But he moved to Bengal at a very young age in search of better opportunities. He later went to play for Bengal in Ranji Trophy. But his heart is UP.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus situation is becoming more complex in India as the number of positive cases is going up every day. So far more than 5000 people have lost their lives and almost two lakhs people are infected with the deadly virus. But there is some good news as well. After analyzing the recent trends it has been learned that the recovery rate from coronavirus has increased significantly over the last few weeks and one can only hope that the grim situation becomes normal soon.
