MS Dhoni has become a cult figure of Indian cricket. After playing for almost two decades, Ranchi-born superstar has announced retirement from international cricket.
Many believe that is was expected. Ever 2019 World Cup, there have been many speculations about his retirement. But the man in question kept mum regarding this issue. Dhoni is currently in Chennai and preparing for CSK before flying to UAE for IPL 2020. He chose August 15, India’s Independence day to declare his decision. Fans started flooding social media platforms with their messages for Dhoni. They congratulate him on his wonderful career.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader, Subramanian Swamy believes that the former India skipper MS Dhoni should fight for 2024 Lok Sabha General Elections. He said that Dhoni’s ability to fight against odds should be used in public life as well. “M. S. Dhoni is retiring from Cricket but not from anything else. His talent-to be able to fight against odds and his inspiring leadership of a team that he has demonstrated in cricket is needed in public life. He should fight in LS General Elections in 2024,” tweeted Swamy.
We don’t know what Dhoni has to say about this suggestion by the BJP veteran leader. But it might be safe to say that the Ranchi boy might stay away from joining any political party soon. He has been an integral part of CSK since the inception of IPL. He is one of the most successful captains in the cash-rich league. The franchise has a lot of faith in Dhoni’s ability. They have already said that they expect Dhoni to be with the team for two more seasons. So, if that happens then the wicketkeeper-batsman might want to concentrate on his game.
Dhoni and other CSK players are currently in Chennai. They are taking part in a training camp, after which they will fly to UAE for IPL 2020.
