The entire world is now under the grave threat of novel coronavirus. More than 1 lakh people have died so far. Thousands are reported positive. India is no exception in this case. With almost 700 deaths recorded so far, Narendra Modi’s government is trying it’s best to contain the deadly virus which was originated in the City of Wuhan in China. India is currently under lockdown which will end on 3rd May. In this situation, daily wage earners are finding it extremely difficult to buy essential items like food and other stuff. The central government and various state governments have extended their helping hand to give some sort of financial relief to the poor and needy. So far cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Ishant Sharma, Sourav Ganguly has come forward and donated money. Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has also donated INR 50 lakhs (25 lakhs in Prime Minister’s relief fund and 25 lakhs in Maharashtra government’s relief fund). Greatest ever Indian cricketer will turn 47 on 24th April. But it has been learned that he will not celebrate this birthday as a mark of respect for the doctors, health workers, and other frontline warriors who are fighting against coronavirus. Though Sachin hasn’t said anything on this. As per the report published in Hindustan Times, The cricketer has decided not to celebrate his birthday this year. According to sources, He believes this is not an appropriate time for such celebration as the entire country is fighting hard against COVID-19. A source was quoted by Hindustan Times, “Sachin has decided that this is not the time for celebrations. He feels that this is the best tribute he can pay to all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, policemen, defense personnel, who are at the frontline.”
